    Chesbay Conservation LLC proposes to establish and operate a wetland compensatory mitigation bank to provide off-site compensatory mitigation for projects that result in unavoidable impacts to wetlands within the specified service area. The proposed mitigation bank site, to be known as the Chesapeake Bay Wetland Mitigation Bank, is comprised of approximately 96 acres of land situated south of John Clayton Memorial Highway (Route 14), west of Fickle Fen Road, and east of Honey Pod Lane in Mathews County, Virginia. Public comment period ends Dec. 10, 2015.

The purpose of the project is a mixed-use development that will have a positive effect on the economic development in the city of Poquoson, provide more housing choices within the city, and increase the population of school-age children within the city.     Lane/Corman Joint Venture is proposing the Berkmar Drive Extension between Hilton Heights Road (Route 1438) and Towncenter Drive (Route 1719) for approximately 2.46 miles and running parallel to and west of Seminole Trail (Route 29 Business). The proposed activities will include increased capacity and mobility, improve safety and improve operational deficiencies along the US Route 29 corridor. Comment period ends Nov. 1, 2015.

    The city of Norfolk has proposed the mechanical dredging of approximately 55 acres of Mason Creek, from existing depths of 2.3 feet to dredge cut elevations of -4.5 feet to -3.5 feet. Approximately 165,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be removed, loaded onto trucks at two upland transfer sites, and then trucked to an approved upland disposal facility. The primary purpose of the project is to improve water quality. Comment period ends Oct. 28, 2015.
