  • NAO-2022-00415 (23-SPGP - Pier, Aquaculture, Shoreline, Dredging, and Other (PASDO))

    Expiration date: 9/4/2028

    The Norfolk District announces the issuance of the 2023 State Programmatic General Permit for piers, aquaculture, shoreline, dredging, and other activities (23-SPGP-PASDO). Effective September 5, 2023, the 23-SPGP-PASDO permit replaces and supersedes Regional Permits (RP) 02, 17, 18, and 19.

  • Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area: Potential Impacts on Future Deposits Due to Limited Capacity

    Expiration date: 2/25/2023

    Due to limited capacity, the Norfolk District anticipates that acceptance of future deposits of dredged material into the CIDMMA, including deposits into the rehandling basin, will need to be deferred indefinitely until completion of the Norfolk Harbor Navigation Improvements Project, Inner Harbor Channels, and Anchorage F, and sufficient capacity is constructed to resume normal operations and dredged material inflows. With the exception of previous commitments for utilization of the rehandling basin, all other deposits are expected to be deferred through calendar year 2024 at a minimum.

    The Hampton Roads Connector Partners proposes to expand the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (HRBT) by widening Route 64 for approximately 9.9 miles from Settlers Landing Road in Hampton to the I-564 interchange in Norfolk, Virginia. The project involves the construction of new bridges over Hampton Roads/lower James River, two new bored tunnels, expansion of the existing portal islands, and widening of the Willoughby Bay trestle-bridges, Bay Avenue bridges, and Oastes Creek bridges. The project will create an eight-lane facility with six consistent use lanes, including two new High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes.

    Arcola Limited Partnership proposes the modification of the existing authorized Arcola Center permit to include additional impacts associated with the construction of a data center campus on 134 acres west of the intersection of Evergreen Mills Road (Route 621) and Loudoun County Parkway (Route 606) in Loudoun County, Virginia. Additional permanent impacts of 0.68 acres of palustrine forested (PFO) wetlands and 0.55 acre (2,082 linear feet) of stream channels are planned. Comments are due May 13.
