  • Lynnhaven Inlet Jetties Public Scoping Meeting

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the city of Virginia Beach announce the initiation of the Lynnhaven Inlet Jetties Study and invite the public to attend a NEPA scoping meeting July 22, from 6-8 p.m., at the Frank W. Cox High School auditorium lobby, 2425 Shorehaven Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Public comment period ends Aug. 31, 2015.

    Expiration date: 7/14/2015

    The applicant proposes raising the existing Bubba’s Marina Restaurant, Virginia Beach, Virginia, 5 feet in elevation, and to construct approximately 124 linear feet of bulkhead, no more than 22 feet channelward of mean high water, and to backfill with approximately 244 cubic yards of fill material. Comment period expires on July 14, 2015.
  • NAO-2014-1362/14-V1049 Tree Chop Circle pier

    Expiration date: 4/17/2015

    The applicant proposes to construct a new pier and mechanically dredge approximately 1,283 square feet (135 cubic yards) to a depth not to exceed -4.5 feet mean low water (MLW) for a single residence boat basin that will provide ingress/egress to a previously approved Special Service District channel. Public comment period ends April 18, 2015.

  • NAO-2004-04041 Rudee Inlet Dredging

    Expiration date: 3/23/2015

    The City of Virginia Beach proposes to dredge approximately 150,000 cubic yards per cycle either by hydraulic dredge or by hopper dredge from the Rudee Inlet Outer Channel Deposition Basin. The dredged material is expected to be primarily beach quality sand that will be used for beach nourishment between Rudee Inlet and 14th Street at a previously authorized placement area or placed nearshore north of Rudee Inlet. The comment period ends on March 23, 2015.

    The city of Virginia Beach, Virginia proposes to decrease Shipps Corner Road’s curvature at the existing bend by realigning the road southward. The project is located adjacent to West Neck Creek in Virginia Beach. The public comment period ends March 9, 2015.
