    The City of Virginia Beach proposes to mechanically dredge approximately 54,906 cubic yards (561,164 square feet) at varying depths not to exceed -4.5 feet below mean low water (MLW) in order to allow residents to restore safe access to navigable channels in the Lynnhaven River and remove accumulated sediment in the channels and in the access basins around private owner’s docks, piers, and similar facilities. The project is located adjacent to the Chesopeian Colony subdivision within and between Pinetree Branch (to the west) and London Bridge Creek (to the east), which are tributaries of the Eastern Branch of the Lynnhaven River in the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    Expiration date: 4/14/2016

    George Karavolos proposes to remove an existing failing bulkhead and concrete boat ramp, and construct a new 141 linear foot bulkhead so as to create two boat slips by excavating the area behind the failing bulkhead. In addition, the project includes mechanically dredging approximately 220 cubic yards (4,863 square feet) for an access channel and turning basin at a depth not to exceed -3.0 feet below mean low water. The dredged material will be transferred to sealed trucks on-site and disposed of off-site in a lawful manner. The project is located in a man-made canal to Broad Bay, a tributary to the Lynnhaven River, at 2004 English Cedar Circle in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

  • NAO-2014-0044 Camp Pendleton Danger Zone

    The district engineer has established a new Danger Zone in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean adjacent to Camp Pendleton, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Effective date is March 30, 2016. This order will remain in effect until changes or formal regulations are developed.

    The City of Virginia Beach proposes to hydraulically dredge navigable channels in Lake Rudee in order to restore residents' safe access channels. Additionally, the city proposes to remove accumulated sediment in the channels and in the access basins around private owner’s docks, piers, and similar facilities. Public comment period ends Feb. 1, 2016.

  • NAO-2007-02856; I64 - I24 Interchange

    Expiration date: 1/21/2016

    The applicant proposes to widen the existing Ramp D-7 of the I64-I264 Interchange, including work extending through the Newtown Rd. interchange on I264. The proposed project includes new bridges over Kempsville Rd. and Newtown Road; widening the I64 bridge over Curlew Dr.; widening the eastbound I264 collector/distributor (C/D) road to four lanes between I64 and off-ramp to southbound Newtown Rd.; widening eastbound I264 to three lanes between loop ramps; and widening eastbound I264 C/D by one lane between Newtown and Witchduck Rd.'s.
