    The applicant proposes to construct a warehouse and distribution facility for use by multiple commercial entities. The site is approximately 170 acres and will include the construction of four (4) buildings, six (6) stormwater ponds, interior roads, and utility infrastructure, as well as a community space including a green space and walking trail. The permit area, including the total acreage of impacts to wetlands and waters of the U.S. resulting from permanent and temporary impacts, is 0.31 acres including 0.02-acre (529 linear feet) of stream, 0.25 acre of open water (POW) wetland, and 0.04 acre of forested (PFO) wetland. The purpose of the project is to expand the capabilities for commerce in the Hampton Roads area to meet growing needs.

  • NAO-2020-02373 (Tolar Place-Ocean View Beach Nourishment Project, Norfolk, Virginia)

    The City of Norfolk requests re-authorization to construct a beach nourishment project at two sites (Tolar Place & Ocean View Beach Park) along the Ocean View shoreline in Norfolk, Virginia, to restore and enhance coastal storm protection to residential and public structures.

  • NAO-2022-01998 (Appomattox River Water Supply Project, Chesterfield County, Virginia)

    Chesterfield County Department of Public Utilities is proposing to construct a raw water intake, pump house, pipeline, and water treatment plant. Norfolk District is requesting comments regarding an adverse effect to the Ware Bottom Church Battlefield as result of this undertaking in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) (54 U.S.C. Section 306108), 36 CFR Part 800, regulations implementing Section 106 of the NHPA and 33 CFR Part 325, Appendix C.

  • NAO-2020-00657 (TREC Route 15, Loudoun County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 1/2/2026

    Loudoun County Department of Transportation requests authorization to remove and replace an existing culvert crossing located within a perennial stream channel. The current crossing is undersized, leading to restricted flow conditions. The culvert crossing will be replaced with a bridge crossing and the affected stream will be restored using natural stream design. This activity will be performed in compliance with current Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) grading standards, and in support an ongoing road expansion project along Route 15.

    The sponsor, Potomac Mitigation Bank, LLC, proposes the establishment of the Brookdale, Britain, and Tiffany Mitigation Bank to offset non-tidal wetland and stream impacts authorized as part of future federal and state permits. The purpose of this notice is to solicit comments and recommendations from the public, federal, state, and local agencies and officials, Indian tribes, and other interested parties concerning the work as described below. All work is to occur in Loudoun County, Virginia.
