  • Nationwide Permit Reissuance Public Notice Request

    Expiration date: 8/4/2025

    On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published in the Federal Register its proposal to reissue 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and issue one new NWP. One NWP is not proposed for reissuance. NWPs are general permits issued on a nationwide basis to streamline the authorization of activities that result in no more than minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects. Many of the proposed NWPs require notification to the district engineer before commencing those activities, to ensure that the activities authorized by those NWPs cause no more than minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects.

    Amazon Data Services, Inc. has proposed to construct the first phase of a two-lane public road to be known as Green Bay Farm Road which will provide through access between Route 33 and Mt. Airy. Proposed impacts are for the construction of the road, associated stormwater management facilities, and erosion and sediment control measures.

  • Joint Public Notice: Notice of Availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods for the Northeast and Southeast

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Baltimore, Buffalo, Charleston, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Galveston, Huntington, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Mobile, Nashville, New England, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Savannah, St. Louis, Tulsa, Vicksburg, and Wilmington Districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 jointly announce the availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods (Regional SDAMs) for the Northeast and Southeast (dated June 12, 2025). The methods are rapid assessment tools to help distinguish between ephemeral, intermittent, and perennial streamflow at the reach scale for the Northeast and Southeast SDAM Regions.
  • NAO-2025-00030 (Synagro - Skippers, Greensville County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 7/9/2025

    The applicant is proposing to construct a compositing facility for the conversion of organic biosolids and wood waste into compost for commercial sale. The proposed project, known as the Synagro Compositing Facility, will include site grading, vehicle accessways and two automotive parking areas, stormwater basins, active bays, curing bays, and overs pile, finished pile, finished product storage areas, mulch pile, scale house, office building, biosolid building and loadout pad. The proposed development will result in permanent impacts to 1.90 acres of wetlands and 83 linear feet of intermittent stream. The purpose of the project is to construct a facility for composting biosolid byproducts.

  • NAO-2022-02902 (Middle James Umbrella Mitigation Bank, Appomattox, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/27/2025

    The Sponsor proposes to design, construct, establish, and operate the Bank for the purpose of providing off-site compensatory mitigation for projects that result in unavoidable impacts to waters of the U.S., including wetlands. The Sponsor has proposed that the Bank will consist of two (2) sites, the Natts Branch Site and the Clover Hill Site. The Sites total approximately 122 acres. All work is proposed to occur in Appomattox County, Virginia.
