Expiration date: 10/30/2015

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Virginia Port Authority announce the initiation of the Elizabeth River and Southern Branch Navigation Improvements General Reevaluation Study and invite the public to attend a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) scoping meeting Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., on the third floor of Nauticus Museum, Living Sea Landing, 1 Waterside Drive, Norfolk, Virginia 23510.

The format of the meeting will be an informal open-house, which the public can attend any time during the meeting hours and staff from the USACE and Virginia Port Authority will be available to answer questions.

The USACE plans to prepare an Environmental Assessment to evaluate environmental impacts from reasonable project alternatives, and to determine the potential for significant impacts.

Scoping comments may be provided at the meeting and/or submitted to David Schulte, USACE, via email/mail/telephone: David.M.Schulte@usace.army.mil;  U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, ATTN: David Schulte, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510; (757) 201-7007, until Oct. 30, 2015.
