  • CENAO-WRO (Coastal Seaplane)

    The Proposed Action is for Coastal Seaplanes to establish a commercial seaplane enterprise that will operate in the Elizabeth River and the York River in Virginia under current seaplane policy pursuant to 36 CFR § 328. This regulation requires the commercial operation of seaplanes from federal project waters to obtain written approval of the District Engineer following consultation with and the necessary clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other appropriate public authorities and affected interests.

    The Roanoke Cement Company is expanding its existing cement manufacturing quarry into an adjoining parcel of land. The expansion would extend the ability of the cement plant to provide high quality limestone to meet current, and future demands. All work is to occur in Botetourt County, Virginia. Comments should be received by the close of business on August 25, 2024

  • NAO-2024-01425 Hogue Creek Mitigation Bank Prospectus, Frederick, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 8/21/2024

    The Sponsor proposes to design, construct, establish, and operate Hogue Creek Mitigation Bank (Bank). The Sponsor is proposing to generate 11,596 stream credits through a combination of stream restoration (3,864 linear feet), stream enhancement (522 linear feet) stream buffer rehabilitation (30.2 acres), livestock exclusion (9,191 linear feet), and threatened and endangered species habitat creation. Additionally, the Sponsor is proposing to generate 39.2 non-tidal wetland credits through non-tidal wetland restoration (37 acres), non-tidal wetland enhancement (0.03 acres), and upland buffer rehabilitation (4.02 acres). The purpose of the Bank is to provide off-site compensatory mitigation for projects that result in unavoidable impacts to waters of the U.S. including wetlands and streams. Comments should be received by the close of business on August 21, 2024.
