  • Notice of Release of The Environmental Assessment For The Warwick River Navigation Improvements Project, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Fort Eustis, Virginia

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Warwick River Navigation Improvements Project. The purpose of the proposed action is to provide direct access to the Warwick River for emergency response vessels launching from the Joint Base Langley Eustis-Fort Eustis (JBLE-Eustis) Warwick River Boat Ramp. The Draft EA and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are available for review and comment for a period of 30 days, beginning June 29, 2026.

    The Sponsor is proposing 7.53 acres of wetland re-establishment, 90.84 acres of wetland rehabilitation, 0.09 acres of wetland preservation, 8.13 acres of wetland buffer rehabilitation, 0.45 acres of wetland buffer preservation, and 2.64 acres of upland buffer preservation. The Sponsor proposes to generate a total of 106.33 non-tidal wetland credits via hydrologic and landscape modification and vegetation planting for the purpose of providing off-site compensatory mitigation for unavoidable impacts to waters of the U.S. associated with DA permits within the proposed Geographic Service Area (GSA). The Norfolk District will receive written comments on the proposed activity until July 9, 2026.
  • Notice to Navigation Interests - Deep Creek Bridge Closure to Maritime Traffic

    Expiration date: 8/3/2026

    From July 6 – August 3, 2026, the old Deep Creek Bridge span will be demolished in preparation for construction of a new span. The facility will be closed to navigation during this four-week period. Those planning to transit the Dismal Swamp Canal are advised to plan accordingly.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District (USACE), is terminating the Collier County Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Feasibility Study, Collier County, Florida. This includes the preparation of the Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement previously announced on July 9, 2024.
