The approximately 24 acre project site is located to the southeast of the intersection of Rolling Road and Hospital Way in the City of Manassas, Virginia.

    The Norfolk District announces the publication of a Notice of Availability of a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for the Route 460 Location Study from Prince George County to the City of Suffolk, Virginia.

    September 17, 2014: The City of Norfolk submitted a permit application for improvements to the existing Western Branch Reservoir Dam. The purpose of the project is to provide reliable water supply storage for Norfolk and other communities; prevent a hazard to downstream residents, structures, roadways, or environment from potential failure of a High Hazard dam; comply with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) dam safety regulations; and comply with the City of Norfolk’s operating permit. Wetland and water impacts for the entire project total 2.629 acres, which include impacts to non-tidal subaqueous land, non-tidal forested wetlands, tidal subaqueous lands, tidal wetlands and intertidal areas. Public comment period ends October 17, 2014.

    Virginia Electric and Power Company proposes to stabilize a portion of the shoreline at the Chesapeake Energy Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Chesapeake Energy Center is planned for decommissioning in 2014/2015, and the purpose of the project is to stabilize the remainder of the perimeter shoreline with a long term, low maintenance solution that minimizes environmental impacts. Public comment period ends Sept. 4, 2014.
