    Chesterfield County Department of Transportation is proposing to make improvements to the Route 288 to Route 10 Interchange include adding a stop light, widening ramps, and modifying existing stormwater management facilities in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

  • NAO-2024-02957 (Virginia Electric and Power Company, Richmond, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 7/26/2025

    The project includes the replacement of existing aerial crossings of tidal waterways for TL 588 as well as new aerial crossings of tidal waterways for TL 5005. The project proposes to replace the existing TL588 aerial crossing and construct a new TL 5005 aerial crossing of the Dismal Swamp Canal in Chesapeake, Virginia. The project is in the Lower Chesapeake watershed.

    Cordish Companies is proposing impacts to approximately 0.59-acres waters of the United States associated with Blackwater Swamp for construction of a casino, hotel, and entertainment resort complex. Proposed impacts are cumulative with 0.92 acres of impacts previously authorized for the area. All work is to occur in the City of Petersburg, Virginia.

    Availability of Final Record of Decision (ROD) for the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) Regional Landfill Expansion. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District (Corps) has completed its National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act 404(b)(1) analysis, and Public Interest review for SPSA’s proposal to expand the Regional Landfill at 1 Bob Foeller Drive off merged U.S. Routes 58, 13, and 460 in Suffolk, Virginia. The Record of Decision is electronically available on our website. There is no comment period for this action.

  • 408-NAO-2025-0048 (Edwards Pier and Boathouse Project)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request has been received for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal civil works project (USACE project), operated and/or managed by the Norfolk District, pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408). Under Section 408, the Norfolk District has the authority to grant permission for temporary or permanent use, occupation or alteration of any USACE project as long as it is determined that the activity will not impair the usefulness of the project and will not be injurious to the public interest. Written comments should be received by the close of business on July 16, 2025.
