    Expiration date: 4/18/2016

    The applicant proposes to hydraulically dredge a 1,048 foot long by 168 foot wide mooring basin with a 450 foot long flared ingress/egress channel to a maximum depth of -45 feet MLW adjacent to Pier P at Lambert's Point Docks in Norfolk. The project is a combination of maintenance and new dredging with direct disposal of the material to CIDMMA (Craney Island).

    The applicant proposes to dredge approximately 89,257 cubic yards of material to a maximum depth of -10 feet below mean low water from approximately 296,208 square feet of subaqueous bottom within Wormley Creek and the York River. The project will realign the existing channel where Wormely Creek meets the York River, and create a channel to the existing boat ramp at the Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown. The dredged material from the channel will be removed by mechanical or hydraulic cutterhead dredge methods during the initial and future maintenance dredging cycles. The sandy dredged material from the entrance of the channel will be used as beach nourishment along the York River shoreline of the Coast Guard Training Center York, and the fine dredge material will be transported by bottom dump scow to the Wolftrap Alternate Placement Site within the Chesapeake Bay.

    The proposed action is to hydraulically or mechanically dredge the Wormley Creek Channel located at the United States Coast Guard Training Center in Yorktown, Va., to a maintained depth of -7 feet mean lower low water (MLLW) plus -2 feet paid overdepth and -1 foot non-paid overdepth for a maximum depth of -10 feet MLLW. Dredging of the Wormley Creek Channel will remove approximately 75,000 cubic yards of dredged material in approximately 6.8 acres.

    The City of Virginia Beach proposes to hydraulically dredge navigable channels in Lake Rudee in order to restore residents' safe access channels. Additionally, the city proposes to remove accumulated sediment in the channels and in the access basins around private owner’s docks, piers, and similar facilities. Public comment period ends Feb. 1, 2016.

    This public notice is being issued in accordance with Section 103 of the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA), for the planned transport and disposal of dredged material that will result from the proposed construction of a new two-lane parallel tunnel to the west of the existing Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel. Approximately 1.7 million cubic yards of dredged material from the project that meets Section 103 evaluation criteria is being proposed for disposal at the Norfolk Ocean Disposal Site. Comment period ends Nov. 27, 2015.
