    The Corps of Engineers has received an application from West Creek Associates to to construct a loop road and a stormwater management facility to serve future commercial and retail offices and retail spaces. Public comment period ends Oct. 19, 2013.

    Expiration date: 9/17/2013

    The applicant, the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, proposes to repair the shoreline protection system (SPS) at the Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex. The project is located along the Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex beach along the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach, Va. Public comment period ends Sept. 17, 2013.

    Expiration date: 6/7/2013

    The north berth at Pier IX of the Kinder Morgan facility needs to be deepened to -52 feet MLLW in order to accommodate the larger PANAMAX vessels. Dredging is required to achieve the proposed depth of -52 feet MLLW. Public comment period ends June 7.

  • PROPOSED ISSUANCE, REISSUANCE, AND/OR MODIFICATION OF THE NORFOLK DISTRICT REGIONAL PERMITS

    The Norfolk District is proposing the issuance of two new Regional Permits (RP-01 and RP-02, formerly LOP-1 and LOP-2, respectfully) and the revision and reissuance of seven Regional Permits (RP-05, RP-15, RP-17, RP-18, RP-19, RP-20, and RP-22). All of the above-referenced permits are currently in effect, but will expire on August 14, 2013 with the exception of RP-05 and RP-20. RP-05 and RP-20 are set to expire on October 5, 2016 and May 25, 2017, respectfully.

    The U.S. Army Corps has received an application from Perdue Agribusiness Incorporated, to perform maintenance and new dredging on their facility in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Perdue has recently brokered a deal to import and export product on larger vessels at their facility. In order to accommodate these vessels, the previously approved dredge limits and dredge depths will need to be modified. This will require the increase of the currently permitted depths (ranging from 39’ to 42’ in NAO-2008-01491, VMRC #08-V0525) to a new maximum depth of 43’. This operation will include of the removal of 25, 083 cubic yards of material covering 5.18 acres of subaqueous bottom. The spoil material is to be deposited in the Craney Island Rehandling Basin.
