    Liberty University Inc. proposed to enlarge the existing Camp Hydaway Lake from 6.4 acres to approximately 29 acres by constructing a new dam approximately 2500 linear feet down stream. The proposed activity is located in Campbell County Virginia and will occur in Opossum Creek and its tributaries.

    Vulcan is proposing to expand mining operation at the existing quarry. The project will impact 1.22 acres of forested wetlands, 0.88 acre of emergent wetlands, 0.63 acre of open water, and 440 linear feet of stream channel. Total cumulative impacts for the project are 1.81 acres of forested wetlands, 0.88 acre of emergent wetlands, 0.63 acre of open water and 645 linear feet of stream channel. The applicant indicated that impact have been avoided and minimized by avoiding impacts to the James River and its RPA and Goode Creek. To mitigate for the proposed impacts, the applicant proposed to purchase 3.32 wetland credits from the James River Mitigation Bank and 359 stream credits from the Amelia Environmental Bank.

    The applicant proposes to reduce bank erosion and eliminate sediment loading downstream within the Maury and James Rivers by restoring approximately 400 linear feet of the Maury River through the excavation of a mid-channel bar, discharging the excavated material and imported fill material along 450 feet of the left river bank to create a vegetated bankfull, floodplain bench; installing two rock vanes; sloping the riverbank and establishing a riparian buffer. The project is located in Glasgow, Virginia.
