The City of Virginia Beach proposes to make roadway and stormwater management improvements along an approximately 4,500 foot corridor of Landstown Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in proximity to the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. These improvements would result in the permanent loss of 1.47 acres of non-tidal, emergent wetlands. Comments on this project should received by the close of business on April 5, 2023.

Section 408 Review of Sand Management Activities, Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Interested parties are hereby notified that multiple requests for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) have been received and will be evaluated by the Norfolk District.  The actions being considered are located in Sandbridge Beach, Virginia Beach, Virginia and have the potential to impact the Sandbridge Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project.  The primary actions being considered include sand maintenance activities to remove excess sand that has migrated onto private property and place it back onto Sandbridge Beach. Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefore, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration and should be received by February 21, 2023.

Section 408).

Project: Dominion Energy Virginia proposes to construct a 2,587-megawatt (MW) offshore wind project, known as the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Commercial Project, located within the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Virginia, which will include associated infrastructure within the cities of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has issued a Notice of Availability (NOA) for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for public comment, and has announced the dates and time of virtual public hearings/meetings.
