    The applicant proposes to increase the shipyard’s permitted dredge depths by variable amounts to achieve a series of standardized depths ranging from -30’ MLW to -50’ MLW across their carrier, submarine, & other vessel navigational zones to improve flexibility for ship movements and eliminate future permit modification requests. The applicant is proposing to remove a total of 868,259 cubic yards of subaqueous bottom as part of the new dredging, and plans to dispose of the material at Craney Island.

    Markel Corporation proposes to construct a warehouse distribution center, a business office park, roads, parking, utilities and erosion and sediment control measures within the existing West Creek Business Park, located in Goochland County, Virginia. Proposed impacts are: 1.34 acres of forested wetlands, 0.45 acre of emergent wetlands, 0.36 acre of open water, and 1,912 linear feet of stream channel. To mitigate for the proposed impacts, the applicant has proposed to purchase 3.11 wetland credits and 1,408 stream credits from the Weatherbury Wetland Mitigation Bank and the Lone Oak Mitigation Bank. Previously authorized wetland impacts for the West Creek Industrial Park are approximately 12.5 acres.

    Napolitano Ventures proposes to impact 0.99 acres of jurisdictional forested wetlands (43,471 square feet) for the construction of 8 single family homes along Shoulders Hill Road in Suffolk, Virginia. The applicant minimized impacts to the greatest amount possible by reducing the original footprint of impacts to Waters of the United States (WOUS). The applicant is purchasing credits from an approved mitigation bank within the geographic service area to offset the impacts to wetlands associated with this project. The proposed site will be accessed through Bennetts Creek Square Development for which a permit was issued in April of 2008 (WP4-07-1796) to impact 0.746 acres of jurisdictional wetlands. Impacts were mitigated at an approved mitigation bank within the service area

    Base Camp Holding is proposing to complete construction of a single family residential development known as Summerlake. The project was previously authorized by the Corps but the applicant did not complete construction of the development prior to the expiration date of the permit. The project site is approximately 97 acres and is located south of Otterdale Branch, generally west of Otterdale Road, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The site drains into Otterdale Branch, which drains into Swift Creek, a tributary to the Appomattox River. The applicant is seeking authorization to impact 0.372 acre of forested wetlands and 375 linear feet of stream channel associated with the construction of 212 lots, roads, utilities, and erosion and sediment control measures. . The applicant previously provided compensatory mitigation for the impacts by making a monetary contribution to the Virginia Wetland Restoration Trust Fund in the amount of $ 119,070.00 and by purchasing 1.6 wetland mitigation credits. Total cumulative permanent impacts for the construction of Summerlake are 2.26 acres of forested wetlands and 1,143 linear feet of stream channel.
