  • NAO-2025-0692 (Route 750 Bridge Replacement)

    Expiration date: 5/19/2025

    VDOT will be replacing a bridge on Route 750 (Old Turnpike Rd) that crosses a tributary of Stockton Creek in Afton, VA. The existing bridge is a contributing feature of the historic district and the removal of the bridge is considered an adverse effect to the district. The bridge must be replaced due to safety concerns. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Corps is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties. Comments should be received by the close of business on May 19, 2025.

    Crescent Development requests authorization to construction Phase 5 and 6 of the residential development known as Myers Corner. Impacts to waters of the United States are associated with the construction of a stormwater management basin and a sanitary sewer connection. The Norfolk District will receive written comments on the proposed work until May 13, 2025.

    The Sponsor proposes to design, construct, establish and operate a stream and non-tidal wetland compensatory mitigation site known as SH-8 Mt. Sydney in the Shenandoah River watershed. The Sponsor proposes to generate approximately 11, 943 Unified Stream Methodology (USM) credits and approximately 35.64 non-tidal wetland credits through the completion of on-site restoration, enhancement, and preservation activities.
