The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Virginia Port Authority announce the release of the Draft Limited Reevaluation Report/Supplemental Environmental Assessment (LRR/SEA) for the Norfolk Harbor Navigation Improvements, Anchorage F Modifications Study. The purpose of the investigation is to identify whether the dimensions of Anchorage F authorized in 2018 remain in the federal interest and to evaluate modifications to improve the operational efficiency of Anchorage F for current and future projected commercial vessels. The Draft LRR/SEA, prepared pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act, identifies alternatives for modifications of Anchorage F and evaluates their impacts to the human and natural environment. The Draft LRR/SEA and Draft Finding of No Significant Impact are available for review and comment for a period of 30 days, beginning May 20, 2025. The public is invited to review, provide comments, and attend a virtual public meeting to learn more about the study and Draft LRR/SEA. A copy of the Draft LRR/SEA and details for the virtual public meeting can be found on the study website: https://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Anchorage-F/.
