The Norfolk District announces the issuance of the 2017 State Programmatic General Permit (17-SPGP). Effective June 29, 2017, this permit supersedes and replaces all previous versions.
The 17-SPGP authorizes the construction of residential, commercial and institutional developments where the discharge does not result in a permanent loss of more than 1 acre of non-tidal waters including the loss of no more than 2000 linear feet of stream bed. The 17-SPGP-01 also authorizes the construction of linear transportation projects where the discharge does not result in a permanent loss of more than 1/2 acre of non-tidal waters including the loss of no more than 1000 linear feet of stream bed.
The Norfolk District issued this permit for five years with an expiration date of May 31, 2022. The newly issued 17-SPGP permit and associated documents can be found on our web site at: http://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/RBregional.aspx.
As of the date of this public notice, the Norfolk District Corps of Engineers received certification regarding water quality (WQC) under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act and the consistency determination under the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA) for 17-SPGP.
