  • NAO-2015-00849 / 15-V1607 15-day Public Notice (Hickory Woods Subdivision, Chesapeake, VA)

    The permittee requests modification of the permit for a time extension from the date of expiration (September 21, 2023). The proposed activities include permanently impacting 0.20 acre of palustrine forested (PFO) wetlands, 1.9 acres of palustrine emergent (PEM) wetlands, and 0.08 acre of palustrine open water (POW) for the purpose of constructing a mixed used residential development with commercial amenities known as Hickory Woods. Public comment should be received by the close of business on January 23, 2024.

  • NAO-2010-0809 (Naval Station Norfolk, Maintenance Dredging, Elizabeth River and Willoughby Bay, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 9/13/2023

    The Navy is proposing to perform maintenance dredging at Naval Station Norfolk on the Elizabeth River and Willoughby Bay in Norfolk, Virginia. This project includes maintenance dredging throughout the installation and ocean and/or upland disposal of the dredged material. Approximately 7.7 million cubic yards of material will be dredged from a 340-acre area during the 10-year maintenance period. Dredge material disposal alternatives include ocean placement at the Norfolk Ocean Disposal Site (NODS), placement at the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area, and/or disposal at another upland site. This public notice is being issued for comments related to the regulatory permits, and also to satisfy the requirements for Section 103 of the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972. Public comments should be received by close of business Sept. 13, 2023.

  • NAO-2017-1468 / VMRC 23-4025 (Nike Park Road, Ise of Wight County, VA)

    Expiration date: 7/13/2023

    The proposed Nike Park Road Extension project will consist of constructing a new approximately one mile, two lane collector roadway that will also include the construction of a multi-use path that will run parallel to the new facility. The project will impact approximately 157,068 square feet (SF) of nontidal forested wetland; 165 SF of nontidal emergent wetland: and 48.2 linear feet (LF) of jurisdictional ditch. In addition, approximately 1800.7 of nontidal forested wetland; 109.4 SF of unconsolidated bottom; 64LF of intermittent stream. Public comments should be received by close of business July 12, 2023.
  • NAO-2023-00286 (Wishing Star Substation, Loudoun County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 5/23/2023

    Virginia Electric and Power Company proposes to construct two power substations adjacent to an existing transmission line within the Broad Run drainage area in Loudoun County, Virginia. The activities will impact 0.17 acres of forested wetlands, 0.02 acres of emergent wetlands, 449 square feet of grading along the bank of a perennial stream (Broad Run), and 791 linear feet of intermittent stream associated with the substation footprints as well as a proposed stormwater management facility. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the NHPA, the Corps is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties. This public notice provides an opportunity for members of the public to express their views on the undertaking’s effects on historic properties and resolution of adverse effects. The Corps is requesting comments to assist in evaluation of the effects of the project on historic properties and evaluation of alternatives or modifications which could avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects on historic properties. Public comments should be received by the close of business on June 22, 2023.

  • NAO-2021-03242 (Henricus Park Bridge Access, Chesterfield County, Virginia)

    Chesterfield County Department of Transportation is proposing an undertaking to construct a new 1.2-mile two-lane access road and bridge with a shared use path for bikers and pedestrians over an oxbow to the James River. The applicant’s stated purpose is to provide access to Henricus Park while the existing park access road (Coxendale Road) is closed to accommodate closure of the existing coal ash ponds at the Dominion Energy Chesterfield County Power Station. The project will adversely the Ware Bottom Church Battlefield. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Norfolk District is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties. This public notice provides an opportunity for members of the public to express their views on the undertaking’s effects on historic properties and resolution of adverse effects. Public comments should be received by the close of business on June 16, 2023.
