  • NAO-2021-03242 (Henricus Park Bridge Access, Chesterfield County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/16/2023

    Chesterfield County Department of Transportation is proposing an undertaking to construct a new 1.2-mile two-lane access road and bridge with a shared use path for bikers and pedestrians over an oxbow to the James River. The applicant’s stated purpose is to provide access to Henricus Park while the existing park access road (Coxendale Road) is closed to accommodate closure of the existing coal ash ponds at the Dominion Energy Chesterfield County Power Station. The project will adversely the Ware Bottom Church Battlefield. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Norfolk District is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties. This public notice provides an opportunity for members of the public to express their views on the undertaking’s effects on historic properties and resolution of adverse effects. Public comments should be received by the close of business on June 16, 2023.

  • NAO-2006-05947 (Kinder Morgan, Newport News, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/16/2023

    The project involves dredging approximately 266,700 cubic yards around Piers IX and X at the Kinder Morgan Bulk Terminals in Newport News, Virginia to increase the depth throughout the facility to -55 feet at mean low water. Public comments should be received by the close of business on June 16, 2023.

  • NAO-2021-02345 (Coyote Drive Access ,Chesterfield County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/14/2023

    Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation is proposing an undertaking to construct a new access point to the Dutch Gap Conservation Area and includes and access road from Coyote Drive, a 50-car parking lot, a lower 5-car ADA compliant parking lot, canoe launch, a pedestrian bridge over the Old James River channel, a stone dust trail that connects to existing trails on Farrar Island in the Dutch Gap Conservation Area for the purpose of providing park access to the public while Henricus Park Road is closed for removal of coal combustion residuals at the Dominion Energy Chesterfield Power Station. The project will adversely affect two archaeological sites. In compliance with regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Norfolk District is soliciting comments on the proposed project from the public; federal, state, and local agencies and officials; Native American Tribes; and other interested parties.   • NAO-2023-00681 (Regional Permit 22, Lake Gaston, Mecklenburg County, Brunswick County)

    The Norfolk District is proposing to reissue and revise Regional Permit RP-22. Reginal Permit 22 (RP-22) includes certain activities within the Virginia portion of Lake Gaston including: construction of piers, boat docks, boat ramps, and boathouses; excavation of boat slips and channels; construction and backfilling of bulkheads and placement of rip rap; and installation of submerged and aerial power lines and utility lines. Public comments should be received by close of business June 14, 2023.

  • NAO-2021-03036 (Yardworks Manufacturing Facility, Chesterfield County, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/2/2023

    The applicant proposes construction an organic mulching facility at 20751 and 20901 Hull Street Road, Chesterfield, VA. The proposal includes construction of inventory storage areas, mulch processing, a sales center, employee parking, and mulch dye area. The proposed project will permanently impact 0.47 acre of non-tidal forested wetland (PFO) and 0.05 acre of non-tidal emergent wetland (PEM). Public comments should be received by the close of business on June 2, 2023
