Jorge Nadal

Deputy District Engineer for Project Management and Chief, Project Management Division

Jorge Nadal is the deputy district engineer for project management and the chief, project management division. He directs and controls all aspects of planning, engineering, construction, water resources and real estate.

Nadal received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, and a master’s and a doctorate in engineering management from Old Dominion University.

After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico, he began for the Army Corps of Engineers, beginning his career as a construction project engineer at Loring Air Force Base in Caribou, Maine.

In 1985, Jorge relocated to the Engineering Division at the Norfolk District where he served as engineering project manager, working on architecture and engineering design contracts.  He was then appointed to serve as the military and environmental project manager in Norfolk District’s Programs and Project Management Division.

Nadal served as the Environmental Branch chief, temporarily as the deputy chief of the Planning Division, and deputy of the Chief Technical Services Division. As the Environmental Branch chief, he managed both Department of Defense and non-DoD Environmental restoration projects as well as the Interagency and International Services program.  Since 2005, he has served the Norfolk District as the deputy chief of Planning, Programs and Project Management Division, and has served as acting deputy district engineer and chief of the Programs and Project Management on numerous occasions.
