  • NAO-2023-01992 (Roanoke River Blueway Improvements, City of Roanoke, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 11/30/2023

    The City of Roanoke have proposed Blueway improvements including eight access points, in-stream structures, and bank stabilization in 8 impact areas in a 4,500 linear foot portion of the Roanoke River starting at Wasena Park in the City of Roanoke, Virginia. Public comment should be received by the close of business on November 30, 2023.

  • Notice of Comment Period Extension (Mountain Valley Pipeline)

    USACE published on December 12, 2022 for public comment a supplemental Public Notice to Mountain Valley Pipeline, LLC’s proposal to discharge dredged and/or fill material into waters of the United States and work in and under navigable waters of the United States associated with the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. The public comment period on this proposal was extended until February 10, 2023 via public notice of December 20, 2022.  The public comment period on this proposal is being extended an additional 15 days until February 25, 2023 to allow additional time for review of additional documents being provided for the benefit of public awareness and to inform any further comments on the proposed project.

    Cudd Construction seeks to construct a 139-townhome community in Lynchburg, Virginia. The applicant proposes to discharge fill material into 263 linear feet of intermittent stream channel and 35 square feet of palustrine forested wetlands for the purpose of installing road crossings and lot development. The stream impacts are minimal, and the applicant applied for verification of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit. There will be an adverse effect to the Blankenship House.
