FEDERAL PUBLIC NOTICE

Revision of the Standard Joint Permit Application

The Norfolk District Corps of Engineers, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Virginia Marine Resources Commission have issued revised versions of the Standard and Tidewater Joint Permit Applications.

Per a request from DEQ, Sections 26, 27 and 28 of the Standard JPA that pertain to surface water withdrawals activities were revised to include additional informational requirements.  The revised sections request applicants provide information pertaining to the water supply plan that covers the area in which the proposed water withdrawal is located and provide information specific to projects proposing a transfer of water resources from the Chowan River, New River, Potomac River, Roanoke River, Big Sandy River, or Tennessee River basins to another river basin.  These changes are to address two amendments to Sections 62.1-44.15 and 62.1-44.15:20.C of State Water Control Law that resulted from the 2012 Legislative Session.

Changes to the Tidewater JPA include updated webpage links and some minor required information fields.

The revised JPA fillable PDF documents have been updated on the Norfolk District’s Regulatory webpage on this date.  The web link for the JPA can be located at the following link: http://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/JPA.aspx.
