    Matan Companies proposes to construct the Port 460 Logistics Center comprised of ten large-volume industrial warehouse and distribution buildings and 5 commercial retail buildings in Suffolk, Virginia. The project would result in the permanent loss of 5.23 acres of non-tidal wetlands (4.01 acres of non-tidal emergent wetlands and 1.22 acres of non-tidal forested wetlands), 4875 linear feet (0.11 acres) of non-tidal streams, and 1.9 acres of non-tidal open water. Comments should be received by the close of business on September 05, 2022.

    Description: Bluewater Development LLC proposes to construct breakwaters with tombolo fill and low sills with beach nourishment and plantings at Cherrystone Campground, 1511 Townfield Drive Cape Charles, Virginia. The rock sill would impact 0.15 acres of tidal wetlands and 0.22 acres of open water. The fill for the sill and nourishment would impact 1.06 acres of non-vegetated tidal wetlands. The rock breakwater would impact 0.25 acres of open water and the tombolo would impact 0.35 acres of non-vegetated tidal wetlands and 0.53 acres of open water. A total of 1.56 acres of non-vegetated tidal wetlands and 1.00 acre of tidal open water would be converted by the proposed project. Public comments should be received by the close of business on September 3, 2022.

    The Norfolk District announces the issuance of the 2022 State Programmatic General Permit for residential, commercial, institutional, and recreational developments (22-SPGPRCIR) and the 2022 State Programmatic Regional Permit for linear transportation projects (22-SPGP-LT). Effective August 08, 2022, the 22-SPGP-RCIR and 22-SPGP-LT permits supersede and replace all previous versions.

    The Corps of Engineers is establishing a restricted area in the waters of the Elizabeth River surrounding the Naval Station Norfolk Lambert’s Point Deperming Station in Norfolk, Virginia, as outlined in the Navigation Regulations, (33 C.F.R. §334.296). The regulation is necessary to better protect underwater equipment, personnel, and vessels utilizing the facility by implementing a waterside security program.  The regulation establishes the restricted area waters surrounding the existing facility immediately adjacent to the channel into Norfolk Harbor. EFFECTIVE DATE: August 31, 2022

    Green Ridge Recycling and Disposal, LLC proposes to construct a new solid waste disposal and recycling facility in Cumberland County, Virginia. The project area is located north of the intersection of U.S. Route 60, Anderson Highway, and Pinegrove Road. Comments on this project should be received by the close of business on August 28, 2022.

    NORFOLK, Va. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, and the City of Virginia Beach signed a Feasibility Cost Share Agreement during an event July 21 to launch the Virginia Beach and Vicinity Coastal Storm Risk Management Study.

This treatment is the backup treatment that did not occur on July 10-16 due to unfavorable conditions.

This treatment is the backup treatment that did not occur on July 10 or 11 due to unfavorable conditions.

The purpose of the compensatory mitigation project is to provide off-site compensatory mitigation for projects that result in unavoidable impacts to streams and other waters of the United States.     NAO-2010-02117 / VMRC 22-1295 (U.S. Navy Little Creek, Virginia Beach)

    The U.S. Navy (Navy) plans to perform maintenance dredging of the Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek Channel and CB 125 Wet Slip at JEB Little Creek located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Navy proposes to: 1) maintenance dredge by mechanical means approximately 89,067 cubic yards from Little Creek Channel to a maximum dredging depth of -24 ft MLLW; 2) maintenance dredge by mechanical means approximately 861 cubic yards from the CB-125 Wet Slip to a maximum dredging depth of -12 ft MLLW; and 3) place approximately 14,000 cubic yards of suitable dredged material, capped with 20,000 cubic yards of armor stone within scour holes at Piers 11,12, and 13, covering 3.4 acres of subaqueous bottom. Public comments should be received by the close of business July 27, 2022.
