    U.S. Navy, Norfolk (NSN) Magnetic Silencing (Degaussing) Range-The Navy proposes to remove the existing sensors, abandon cables and ancillary equipment, and reinstall the equipment below the proposed new channel depth of -57 ft mean lower low water (MLLW) at the Magnetic Silencing (Degaussing) Range , located within the Norfolk Harbor Entrance Channel, approximately 0.8 nautical miles southwest of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Public comments should be received by the close of business May 3, 2023.

    Section 408 Review of Shockoe Island Improvements, Richmond, Virginia

    Interested parties are hereby notified that multiple requests for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) have been received and will be evaluated by the Norfolk District.  Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefore, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration. The actions being considered are located on Shockoe Island in Richmond, Virginia and have the potential to impact the Richmond Flood Protection Project near the Richmond Floodwall North. Comments should be received by April 14, 2023.

    The United States Army is publishing this notice to announce the availability of the Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) and Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to construct a new river water intake structure and pump house in Area B at Holston Army Ammunition Plant (HSAAP). The purpose of the proposed action is to construct a new intake structure and associated pump house to meet Rule 316(b) requirements while providing adequate capacity for water intake at full RDX/HMX production capacity.     Army Corps of Engineers Releases Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2023 Civil Works Appropriations

    WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2023 (FY 2023) Work Plan for the Army Civil Works program Feb. 27. "The FY 2023 Work Plan for Army Civil Works continues the administration’s substantial investments in projects and actions that will strengthen supply chains and the economy by adding capacity at the nation’s waterways and ports, build resilience to the impacts of climate change by reducing flood risks of communities and restoring the aquatic environment, and promote equity in underserved communities consistent with the President’s Justice40 Initiative,” said Michael Connor, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works.

    USACE published on December 12, 2022 for public comment a supplemental Public Notice to Mountain Valley Pipeline, LLC’s proposal to discharge dredged and/or fill material into waters of the United States and work in and under navigable waters of the United States associated with the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. The public comment period on this proposal was extended until February 10, 2023 via public notice of December 20, 2022.  The public comment period on this proposal is being extended an additional 15 days until February 25, 2023 to allow additional time for review of additional documents being provided for the benefit of public awareness and to inform any further comments on the proposed project.
