    SUFFOLK, Va. -- A sign warns people of the danger at the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot. In 1987 the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot became a matter of public concern when a piece of crystalline TNT was found at the Tidewater Community College, Portsmouth Campus. Extensive historical research, investigations, and testing led the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to place this site on the National Priority list in 1999.     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites the public to attend a meeting about restoration efforts at the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot 6:15-8:15 p.m., June 4. Corps project managers will discuss the latest clean-up progress at the Formerly Used Defense Site during the project’s second quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting at the Courtyard Marriott, located at 8060 Harbour View Boulevard here.
