Great Bridge Locks reopen as tidal waters recede

NORFOLK – The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reopened the great bridge lock in Chesapeake, Va.

The locks are operating on their normal schedule of every hour between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on demand afterward.

Engineers inspected, cleared debris from and greased the gears after the tides receded.
