Public invited to Gathright Dam info session on water management and river health, Sept. 19

Covington, VA—U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Norfolk District along with partners from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, and the U.S. Forest Service are hosting the annual public information meeting on Thursday, 19 Sept. from 3pm to 5:30pm at the Gathright Dam Visitors Center, Lower Level.

Presentation topics will include
•              Educational Approach to Water Management
•              Fisheries management/Jackson River and Lake Moomaw
•              Jackson River Health
•              Lake Moomaw Recreation

The format of the meeting will include a brief presentation from each organization followed by an informal open house with a story board line-up. The public is welcomed to attend any time during the meeting hours. Staff will be available to answer questions during the open house portion. Education materials displayed will include topics on water management, dam safety, facility management, and emergency management.
