CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- The Deep Creek Bridge will close to vehicle traffic for two 15-minute intervals on Thursday, April 19, between the hours of 9:30 and 11:30. a.m.

During the closures, contractors will replace a portion of the bridge deck grid, which was damaged over the weekend.

USACE structural engineers inspected the bridge and determined it's safe for vehicle traffic.

Motorists should plan for potential lengthy delays during the construction time and consider alternate routes.

In the case of unfavorable weather conditions, contractors will make the repair Friday, April 20.
