Virginia Beach renourishment
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -– One of two hopper dredges anchors a few hundred yards off the Virginia Beach coast, cycling from navigational channels north of Cape Henry to a pump-out landing station near 26th Street where the material is piped onshore. It's part of the Virginia Beach Hurricane Protection Beach Renourishment Project, which will replenish 1.25 million cubic yards of sand between 15th and 70th streets.
