FAR ROCKAWAY, N.Y. – Col. Paul Olsen assures a local resident at the Redfern Housing Complex that the Corps of Engineers is working with local and state authorities to get power restored to the complex as quickly as possible. The area was inundated by saltwater during Hurricane Sandy and lost power as a result. USACE is actively supporting emergency temporary power missions in New York and New Jersey and is ready to provide emergency temporary power with more than 294 generators staged at forward locations. This mission assignment includes hauling, installing, operating and maintaining generators at critical facilities. (U.S. Army photo)
