SANDBRIDGE, Va. – While the hopper dredge BE Lindholm is anchored off the coast pumping sand through a piping system onto Sandbridge beach through a strainer, dozers move the sand to widen the beach. Today the crew was working between the 2800 and 2900 block of Sandpiper Rd. The $13.35 million non-federal project included the dredging and placement of approximately 2 million cubic yards of sand along public beachfront from Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to the Dam Neck Naval facility.
