Mr. Aaron Edmonson, P.E., PMP, is the Construction Division chief for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District. Edmonson is responsible for a multidisciplinary, professional workforce that provides construction services for the District’s military, civil works, environmental, and support for other programs. 

Mr. Edmonson leads the Construction Division, which provides construction management, safety oversight, quality assurance, and contract administration for Military Construction (MILCON), Civil Works, and Interagency and International Support (IIS) programs across the District’s area of responsibility. Under his leadership, the branch performs Biddability, Constructability, Operability, Environmental, and Sustainability (BCOES) reviews on both in-house and A-E design products. He oversees operations through multiple Area, Resident, Field, and Project Offices, guiding a high-performing, technically proficient team committed to delivering quality projects for District stakeholders.

Mr. Edmonson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute (1998) and a Master of Business and Administration from the University of Maryland- Global Campus (2020). He has served over 22 years in federal service, including over eight years in the Army. His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course and the Infantry Officer Career Course. His army career includes two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one of which was as a battery commander in 2/3 Field Artillery, 1st Armored Division.

Mr. Edmonson most recently served as the Norfolk District’s Chief, Design Branch, and oversaw the execution of all in-house design resources. Before serving as the Norfolk District Chief of Design Branch, Aaron served as an Area Engineer and Chief of Construction Support Services section in the Europe District; Resident Engineer in the Herbert Hoover Dike Area Office for Jacksonville District; Senior Project Engineer for the Hurricane Projection Office and a Construction Manager for New Orleans District. 

His decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (second award), Army Commendation Medals, and the Army Achievement Medals. 

Mr. Edmonson is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Louisiana.
