  • Notice to Navigation Interests - Deep Creek Bridge Closure to Maritime Traffic

    Expiration date: 8/3/2026

    From July 6 – August 3, 2026, the old Deep Creek Bridge span will be demolished in preparation for construction of a new span. The facility will be closed to navigation during this four-week period. Those planning to transit the Dismal Swamp Canal are advised to plan accordingly.

    All interested parties are notified that an application dated June 28, 2019, has been received from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by the Commander, Fifth Coast Guard District, for approval of the location and plans for construction of a new drawbridge over a navigable waterway of the United States.
