    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by the Town of Chincoteague Town Manager to remove existing pilings and mooring slips and construct a new 15 slip, 120-foot-wide and 72-foot-long floating dock system at the Town-owned Robert Reed Park along Chincoteague Inlet (Inner Channel). This project may alter the Chincoteague Inlet (Inner Channel) Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on April 9, 2026.

    The Norfolk District has received an application proposing to use a modified floating structure for temporary restaurant seating in Chincoteague Va. The structure is approximately 58 feet by 30 feet, will have a 40 seat capacity, and will be moored in an existing private boat slip.

    The Norfolk District Corps of Engineers has established a temporary Danger Zone for the period of April 17th through April 22nd, 2013, around the NASA Wallops Flight Center in Accomack, Va., for the NASA Orbital's resupply to space station launch.
