    Arcland Property Company, LLC has proposed to construct a self-storage facility, parking lot, utilities, and a stormwater management pond. The project site is located south of Overview Drive, west of Cosner Drive, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. Public comments should be received by the close of business July 24, 2022.

  • 408-NA0-2022-0034; City of Virginia Beach

    Expiration date: 7/8/2022

    A 408 review request has been received from the City of Virginia Beach to replace an existing “Brainwaves” exhibit panel at 16th St., and add a new exhibit panel at 24th St. and 30th St. respectively, along the boardwalk at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.  The panels, materials and method of installation are the same or similar as the street informational signage that are in place at each of the beach access locations. The action being considered is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has the potential to impact the Virginia Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project. Comments are due by July 8, 2022.
  • Update on the issuance of the Department of the Army State General Programmatic Permits (SPGPs).

    The 17-SPGP expired on May 31, 2022.  Until the issuance of the 2022 SPGPs, the Corps will review any SPGP applications under the Corps’ Nationwide Permit or Standard Permit review processes. On March 21, 2022, the Corps public noticed two 2022 SPGPs to the people of the Commonwealth of Virginia (https://www.nao.usace.army.mil/Media/Public-Notices/Article/2971638/22-spgp-recreational-commercial-institutional-and-recreational-developments-rci/).  The 22-SPGP-RCIR is proposed for use with residential, commercial, institutional, and recreational developments.  The 22-SPGP-LT is proposed for use with the linear transportation projects.
  • NAO-1998-00259 (Loudoun County)

    Expiration date: 7/2/2022

    The applicant has proposed to construct a data center consisting of five 2-story buildings, mechanical yards, internal access roads, and storm water management facilities. As proposed, the project would impact 3,532 linear feet of stream channel, 0.51 acre of palustrine forested wetlands, 0.18 acre of palustrine scrub-shrub, and 0.21 acre of palustrine emergent wetlands. Public comments should be received by the close of business on July 2, 2022.

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) has been received and will be evaluated by the Norfolk District. Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefor, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration. The authority to grant permission for temporary or permanent use, occupation or alteration of any USACE civil works project is contained in Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, as amended, codified at 33 USC 408 (“Section 408”). Section 408 authorizes the Secretary of the Army to grant permission for the alteration or occupation or use of a USACE project if the Secretary determines that the activity will not be injurious to the public interest and will not impair the usefulness of the project.
