  • 408-NAO-2026-0067 (Luck Stone Gilmerton Yard Maintenance Dredging)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Luck Stone to maintenance dredge, by mechanical method, approximately 3000 CY of material to a depth of -12 feet at MLLW from an area 600 feet by 50 feet adjacent to a barge unloading facility on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River, located at 460G Bainbridge Blvd in Chesapeake, Virginia. The dredge material will be transported to an approved upland location, and/or stored onsite. The purpose of the project is the remove shoaled sediment and for the continued safe and efficient barge access to the unloading dock. This project may alter the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River portion of the Norfolk Harbor and Channels Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on August 6, 2026.
  • NAO-2005-04558 / VMRC 20260287 (Roanoke Valley Resource Auth. Smith Gap Landfill, Roanoke County, Virginia)

    Roanoke Valley Resource Authority is proposing an expansion of the Smith Gap Landfill for Phases VIII and IX, resulting in permanent impacts to a total of 757 linear feet of stream channel associated with site grading and perimeter berm construction. All work would occur in Roanoke County, Virginia.

    The Sponsor is proposing to restore and enhance streams using Natural Channel Design, wetlands, and riparian buffers by reestablishing riparian buffers with heavy planting and exclusion of cattle. The Sponsor proposes to generate a total of 31,501 wetland and stream credits.

    The City of Danville is proposing to construct a whitewater park. The project would convert the existing Dan River Canal into a recreational whitewater course. All work is to occur in the City of Danville, Virginia.

    The applicant proposes to construct a multi-generational residential subdivision on a 16.1-acre site at 3624 E Belt Boulevard in the City of Richmond, Virginia, at approximately Latitude 37.4741624 N and Longitude 77.4575408 W. The proposed project would include eight 3-story multi-family apartment buildings (264 units), one 4-story senior living building (168 units), a clubhouse, a community pool, and associated access roads, utilities, parking areas, and stormwater management facilities. The proposed action would result in permanent impacts to approximately 5.17 acres of non-tidal wetlands and 40 linear feet of stream channel associated with site grading and infrastructure construction.
