  • Nationwide Permit: General Condition 18 Information

    The purpose of this document is to provide information for prospective users of the Nationwide Permits (NWPs) that are not federal agencies to help them determine whether a proposed NWP activity requires a pre-construction notification (PCN) to ensure compliance with the Endangered Species Act (ESA). For the 2012 NWPs, ESA Section 7 compliance is covered by NWP General Condition 18.

  • NAO-2012-00080 / 13-V0408 Skiffes Creek Public Hearing

    The Norfolk District Regulatory Branch is currently considering a Department of the Army Permit Application from Dominion Virginia Power to construct a new high voltage aerial electrical transmission line in the North Hampton Roads Load Area (NHRLA), known as the Surry-Skiffes Creek-Whealton Transmission Line project. After careful consideration we have determined a public hearing may yield information that would better inform our decision in this matter.

    The Big Woods Development Company, LLC proposes to construct a mixed-use development, including 238 single family homes, 107 townhomes, 11 cottages, 40,000 square feet of retail space, six stormwater management facilities, club house, and roads on a 100.2-acre site know as “Big Woods”. The purpose of the project is a mixed-use development that will have a positive effect on the economic development in the city of Poquoson, provide more housing choices within the city, and increase the population of school-age children within the city. Comment period ends Nov. 1, 2015.

    Expiration date: 11/1/2015

    Lane/Corman Joint Venture is proposing the Berkmar Drive Extension between Hilton Heights Road (Route 1438) and Towncenter Drive (Route 1719) for approximately 2.46 miles and running parallel to and west of Seminole Trail (Route 29 Business). The proposed activities will include increased capacity and mobility, improve safety and improve operational deficiencies along the US Route 29 corridor. Comment period ends Nov. 1, 2015.

  • NAO-2014-0896

    Expiration date: 10/28/2015

    The city of Norfolk has proposed the mechanical dredging of approximately 55 acres of Mason Creek, from existing depths of 2.3 feet to dredge cut elevations of -4.5 feet to -3.5 feet. Approximately 165,000 cubic yards of dredged material will be removed, loaded onto trucks at two upland transfer sites, and then trucked to an approved upland disposal facility. The primary purpose of the project is to improve water quality. Comment period ends Oct. 28, 2015.
