  • NAO-2025-02633, Upper Roanoke Mitigation Bank; Franklin and Montgomery County, Virginia

    Expiration date: 6/21/2026

    The sponsor, Naturion, proposes to establish the Upper Roanoke Mitigation Bank to offset non-tidal wetland and stream impacts authorized as part of future federal and state permits. The purpose of this notice is to solicit comments and recommendations from the public, federal, state, and local agencies and officials, Indian tribes, and other interested parties concerning the work as described below. All work is to occur in Franklin and Montgomery Counties, Virginia.
  • NAO-2026-000359 (Route 1/30 Interchange Improvements, Hanover, Virginia)

    Expiration date: 6/20/2026

    Hanover County requests authorization to improve the intersection of Route 1 and Route 30, which will result in permanent impacts to approximately 1.02 acres of palustrine forested wetlands (PFO), 0.30 acre of palustrine emergent wetland (PEM), and 0.01 acre of jurisdictional ditches, and temporary impacts to approximately 0.01 acre of PFO, 0.16 acre of PEM, 2 linear feet of intermittent (R4) stream, and <0.01 acre of jurisdictional ditch. All work is to occur in Hanover County, Virginia.

  • Announcing Administrative Correction for 2026 NWPs Regional Condition 4

    This Public Notice announces an administrative correction to Regional Condition 4 of the Norfolk District’s Final Regional Conditions for the 57 nationwide permits (NWPs) that were published in the January 8, 2026, Federal Register (91 FR 768). These 57 NWPs and the Regional Conditions went into effect on March 15, 2026, and will expire on March 15, 2031.

  • NAO-2006-01588 (BAE Systems Pier 1 Improvement Project, Norfolk, VA)

    BAE systems propose improvements to their existing ship repair facility by extending Pier 1, installation of a fender system, construction of a new bulkhead with a channelward riprap revetment, and the dredging of the berthing area on the Elizabeth River in Norfolk, Virginia.The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the work described in this notice. The Norfolk District will receive written comments on the proposed work until May 31, 2026

  • NAO-2017-1673 (Smith Farm Mitigation Bank, Franklin County, VA)

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) received a complete prospectus from Clearwater Mitigation V LLC, proposing the establishment of the Smith Farm Mitigation Bank to offset stream impacts authorized as part of future federal and state permits. The purpose of this notice is to solicit comments and recommendations from the public, federal, state, and local agencies and officials, Indian tribes, and other interested parties concerning the work as described. The proposed compensatory mitigation site (the Bank) is located at 733 Crafts Ford Road, Wirtz in Franklin County, Virginia at 37.052731, -79.711804. The Bank consists of predominantly pasture with non-native vegetation. The Bank is adjacent to Blackwater River and is located within the Roanoke River Basin. The Norfolk District will receive written comments on the application until the close of business May 28, 2026.
