    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Forebeck I LLC to construct a new timber wharf, boat lift, and boathouse along the Lynnhaven Inlet - Channel to Broad Bay at 2715 Canal Road, Virginia Beach, VA. This project may alter the Channel to Broad Bay portion of the Lynnhaven Inlet Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on October 22, 2025.

    : Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by My Mr. Kevin Seldon for the construction of two 5' x 40' pier additions adjacent to the existing pier, one on the east side and one on the west side and installation a 16,000 lb. boat lift along the Channel to Broad Bay (Beach Canal) at 2928 Adam Keeling Road, Virginia Beach, VA. This project may alter the channel to the Broad Bay portion of the Lynnhaven Inlet Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on October 22, 2025.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0073 (Newport News Seafood Industrial Park Pier and Dolphin Restoration Project)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by the City of Newport News for the Newport News Seafood Industrial Park (SIP) to conduct repair recommendations to existing structures as required by a 2024 structural condition inspection including pier repairs and mooring and breasting dolphin repairs. This project may alter the Newport News Creek Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on October 22, 2025.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0074; Lynnhaven River Basin Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project – Wetland (Thalia Creek/Princess Anne High School Site), City of Virginia Beach Public Schools

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is reviewing a request (NAO-2025-0074) from Virginia Beach Public Schools to build a 1,001-square-foot ADA-compliant boardwalk across a restored wetland at Princess Anne High School. The project, part of the Lynnhaven River Basin Ecosystem Restoration Project – Phase 1 Wetland, would provide students safe access for outdoor education and scientific study. The boardwalk is expected to have negligible impact on the restored marsh. Public comments are invited.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0048 (Cape Charles City Harbor)

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District has received a request from Coastal Precast Systems for permission to alter the Cape Charles City Harbor Federal Navigation Project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (Section 408). The proposed improvements include construction of a new boat launch ramp and temporary moorings to support the reconstruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore Harbor. The temporary moorings would be removed upon completion of the Key Bridge project, while the boat ramp would remain permanently to provide barge maintenance service at the Coastal Precast Systems facility. Written comments must be received by August 29, 2025.
