    Gamesa Energy USA, LLC has requested a permit to install, maintain, and operate a single 5-Megawatt offshore turbine generator prototype and its supporting infrastructure near Cape Charles, Virginia. The project will include the permanent alteration of 215 square feet of subaqueous bottom for the installation of a monopole foundation, and approximately 16, 240 square feet of subaqueous bottom at the base of the monopole foundation will be permanently altered by the installation of rock armoring for scour protection. Public comment period ends March 29, 2013.

  • NAO-2008-01491

    The U.S. Army Corps has received an application from Perdue Agribusiness Incorporated, to perform maintenance and new dredging on their facility in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Perdue has recently brokered a deal to import and export product on larger vessels at their facility. In order to accommodate these vessels, the previously approved dredge limits and dredge depths will need to be modified. This will require the increase of the currently permitted depths (ranging from 39’ to 42’ in NAO-2008-01491, VMRC #08-V0525) to a new maximum depth of 43’. This operation will include of the removal of 25, 083 cubic yards of material covering 5.18 acres of subaqueous bottom. The spoil material is to be deposited in the Craney Island Rehandling Basin.

    The applicant, Allied-Marbury LLC, has requested a permit for a project consisting of the discharge of fill material into waters of the United States associated with the development of a residential community. The project is called Marbury. The project is located on an approximately 378-acre parcel southwest of the intersection of Gum Spring Road (Route 659) and Ticonderoga Road in Loudoun County, Virginia. The work will occur in tributaries to Bull Run. Publilc comment period ends March 25, 2013.

    Expiration date: 3/12/2013

    Henderson, Inc. proposes to construct a 10.5 mile long, 10-foot-wide asphalt trail with 3 feet wide graded shoulders on each side. The purpose of the project is to provide a multi-use trail to provide safe, recreational, multi-modal travel opportunities ultimately linking the City of Richmond and the City of Williamsburg. Comment period ends Mar. 12, 2013.

  • NAO-2012-02060

    Expiration date: 2/11/2013

    The applicant proposes to construct a pile supported rowing and sailing facility over tidal waters and construct 228 linear feet of bulkhead and 182 linear feet of rip rap revetment beneath the proposed structure. Two existing piers in the northern portion of the property will be removed and replaced with two floating piers. Two existing piers in the western portion of the project area will be removed and replaced by a single fixed pier and an existing pier in the southern portion of the project area will be extended 54 linear feet. The project is located on the East River at the terminus of Williams Wharf Road in Mathews County, Virginia.
