  • Notice to Navigation Interests - Deep Creek Bridge Closure to Maritime Traffic

    Expiration date: 8/3/2026

    From July 6 – August 3, 2026, the old Deep Creek Bridge span will be demolished in preparation for construction of a new span. The facility will be closed to navigation during this four-week period. Those planning to transit the Dismal Swamp Canal are advised to plan accordingly.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will perform valve replacement and diving at Great Bridge Lock in Chesapeake, Virginia, starting Feb. 20 and concluding around March 16.
