  • NAO-13-00418; Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Commercial Project

    Dominion Energy Virginia proposes to construct a 2,587-megawatt (MW) offshore wind project, known as the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Commercial Project, located within the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Virginia, which will include associated infrastructure within the cities of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. Public comments should be received by the close of business on October 15, 2022.

    WATERWAY AND LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED WORK:  The proposed compensatory mitigation site is located on 8.1 acres northeast of the town of Exmore, Virginia.

    Dam Neck Danger Zone Modification- The Corps of Engineers is amending an existing permanent danger zone in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean south of the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay off of the coast of Virginia. This amendment identifies the area within the current danger zone boundary where live fire exercises are no longer conducted and no restriction to surface navigation exists. In addition, the amendment removes references to live fire range conditions and safety procedures since shore-to-sea gunnery operations are no longer conducted.
