    The City of Virginia Beach (City) proposes to construct a beach replenishment (nourishment) project along Croatan Beach by placing approximately 150,000 cubic yards (CY) of sand along approximately 2,900 linear feet of shoreline, to tie into existing submerged grade at approximately -5 feet to -8 feet MLW at Croatan Beach, from the south jetty at Rudee Inlet southward to the City’s boundary with Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Public comments should be received by the close of business on April 17, 2023.

  • NAO-2014-0044 Camp Pendleton Danger Zone

    The district engineer has established a new Danger Zone in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean adjacent to Camp Pendleton, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Effective date is March 30, 2016. This order will remain in effect until changes or formal regulations are developed.

  • NAO-2004-04041 Rudee Inlet Dredging

    Expiration date: 3/23/2015

    The City of Virginia Beach proposes to dredge approximately 150,000 cubic yards per cycle either by hydraulic dredge or by hopper dredge from the Rudee Inlet Outer Channel Deposition Basin. The dredged material is expected to be primarily beach quality sand that will be used for beach nourishment between Rudee Inlet and 14th Street at a previously authorized placement area or placed nearshore north of Rudee Inlet. The comment period ends on March 23, 2015.
