The permit area, including the total acreage of impacts to wetlands and waters of the U.S. resulting from permanent and temporary impacts, is 0.31 acres including 0.02-acre (529 linear feet) of stream, 0.25 acre of open water (POW) wetland, and 0.04 acre of forested (PFO) wetland. The purpose of the project is to expand the capabilities for commerce in the Hampton Roads area to meet growing needs.

The Norfolk District is consulting further to develop and evaluate alternatives or modifications to the undertaking that could avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects on historic properties. Public comments should be received by close of business July 11, 2023.
