    The Norfolk District is seeking comments regarding the development of Section 408 Categorical Permission 2 (408-CP-02) - Low Impact Alterations Conducted By Nonfederal Sponsors or Independent Requestors to the Sandbridge Beach Erosion and Hurricane Protection Project in Virginia Beach, Virginia which will provide expedited and streamlined reviews and final decisions for permission to alter the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Sandbridge Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408).

    Expiration date: 5/23/2022

    Interested parties are hereby notified of a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) that has been received and will be evaluated by the Norfolk District. The actions being considered are located in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, Virginia and have the potential to impact the Sandbridge Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project. The actions  proposed at 2828 and 3608 Sandfiddler Road include sand maintenance activities to remove excess sand that has migrated onto private property and the relocation of sand back onto Sandbridge beach.  The action proposed at 3520 Sandfiddler Road includes sand maintenance activities and the construction of a bulkhead and return walls. Comments are due by May 23, 2022.

    Interested parties are hereby notified of a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. Section 408) that has been received and will be evaluated by the Norfolk District.  Written comments, including any objections to the proposed alteration, stating reasons therefore, are being solicited from anyone having an interest in the requested alteration.  The action being considered is located in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, Virginia and has the potential to impact the Sandbridge Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project.  The action is proposed at 2852 Sandfiddler Road and includes the construction of a bulkhead on private property and the relocation of excess sand back onto Sandbridge Beach.

The action being considered is located in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, Virginia and has the potential to impact the Sandbridge Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project. The action is proposed at 3008 Sandfiddler Road and includes sand maintenance activities to remove excess sand that has migrated onto private property and place it back onto Sandbridge Beach.

    HOFD Ashville Park, LLC & Ashville Park Owners Association propose the construction of the drainage improvements required by the City of Virginia Beach and the development of the remaining Villages including the supporting infrastructure at the existing, partially developed Ashville Park residential subdivision in Virginia Beach. The applicant proposes to impact 0.31 acres of open water, 0.74 acres of emergent wetlands, 2.23 acres of scrub/shrub wetlands and 0.12 acres of forested wetlands.
