  • 408-NAO-2026-0018 (Town of Chincoteague Downtown Floating Dock)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by the Town of Chincoteague Town Manager to remove existing pilings and mooring slips and construct a new 15 slip, 120-foot-wide and 72-foot-long floating dock system at the Town-owned Robert Reed Park along Chincoteague Inlet (Inner Channel). This project may alter the Chincoteague Inlet (Inner Channel) Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on April 9, 2026.

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Captain Dan's Island Tours, c/o Mr. Dan Davis, to install a new 95 linear foot floating dock system along Chincoteague Inlet Inner Channel at 4161 Main Street, Chincoteague, VA. This project may alter the Chincoteague Inlet Inner Channel Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on January 2, 2026.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0060 (Chesapeake Yachts Pier Replacement Project)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Chesapeake Yachts to remove the existing concrete floating pier system and replace with a new concrete floating pier with no further channelward encroachment and the existing aluminum gangway will be relocated to accommodate the new floating pier. This project may alter the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway – Dismal Swamp Canal Federal Navigation Project (AIWW-DSC). Comments should be received by the close of business on January 2, 2026.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0054 (Bramwell Pier Project)

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Mr. Gerald Bramwell to remove and replace an existing pier with a new pier and associated structures along Herbert's Creek (Sunset Creek) at 6 Cedar Point Drive in Hampton, Virginia. Floating finger piers will be installed to accommodate boat access. The proposed project will include (1) 88' x 6' and (2) 30' x 6' floating docks. There will be a 60' mooring location for 95K LB boat with (3) mooring pilings, a 20K LB boat lift in a 22' wet slip, and a modular floating kayak pier. This project may alter the Hampton Creek/Herbert’s Creek Federal Navigation Project. Comments should be received by the close of business on October 22, 2025.
  • 408-NAO-2025-0035 (Safe Harbor Bluewater Marina Improvements Project )

    Interested parties are hereby notified that a request for permission to alter a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) federal project pursuant to Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899, 33 U.S.C. 408 (Section 408) has been received and is under evaluation by the Norfolk District. This Section 408 request was submitted by Safe Harbor Bluewater Marina Improvements Project which includes new work and maintenance dredging and the replacement of multiple fixed piers with floating piers for safe ingress/egress to the marina and for the mooring of larger vessels at the marina along Herbert's Creek (Sunset Creek) located at 25 Marina Road, Hampton, VA. This project may alter the Hampton Creek/Herberts Creek Federal Navigation Channel. The area will be dredged to -6.5-ft MLW and -8.0-ft MLW and transported to an approved upland facility. Comments should be received by the close of business on June 6, 2025.
