    The Nature Conservancy is proposing the establishment of a mitigation site known as SH-9 Laurel Fork (Goodall) to offset non-tidal wetlands and stream impacts authorized as part of future federal and state permits. The proposed compensatory mitigation site is located at 936 Collins Run Lane, Monterey which is located in Highland County, Virginia.

    The Sponsor, Coastal Virginia Conservancy (Living River Restoration Trust) proposes to design, construct, and manage 2 additional compensatory mitigation sites in Paradise Creek. The Sponsor proposes to place a thin layer of granular activated carbon on the existing surficial sediment in 6 areas of Paradise Creek, using a mechanical delivery system. In addition, the Sponsor proposes to develop the final sediment remediation techniques to be applied to 8 areas of Paradise Creek as the Projects move forward. The proposed activities are anticipated to generate approximately 12 compensatory mitigation credits. Comments should be received by the close of business on June 15, 2024.
