NORFOLK, Va. -- Norfolk District employees gathered in Baltimore District's Deployable Tactical Operations System to listen to its crew members explain the capabilities of the DTOS May 19, 2014. The trip allowed the crew to meet training requirements while complementing Norfolk District's hurricane contingency planning that day. The Norfolk District's Continuity of Operations meeting anticipated needs, abilities and work-arounds for the more than 300 Norfolk District employees in the case the building was heavily damaged during a storm. The deployable operations systems offers work stations, a video teleconference room, wireless capabilities, and three days of power from one tank of diesel fuel and deploys to an area of need after a a presidential disaster declaration and a Federal Emergency Management Agency tasking.
